Hannah Sator has always been interested in making videos ever since she was a kid. She would make home videos with her best friend. While in high school, she got more into making a documentary, “like a mini-series, doing little fun videos with friends,” she said. This led her to think, “Oh, I’m interested in this; I could try it out.” She came to Olivet to major in Multimedia COMM with a concentration in Film Studies and a minor in Media Arts. In her freshman year, she grew to enjoy it and to love drawing. With this major and minor, she would like to work for Disney, which is a goal that she has.
The Early Films
Hannah’s best friend Taylor was one of the first people that made videos with her besides her brother and sister. In second through fourth grade, they would write little scripts and write little plays.
“They were so fun and cute, we would take American Girl Dolls and make a show, so fun and so dorky, but it was some of my fondest memories.,” she said.
In fifth and sixth grade, they would start filming. One of their films was a mini-motion picture, “The Case of the Bendy Straws,” which they still refer to today.
“It is so fun that we just have these core memories of random videos we made,” she said.
Work and Play
While Hannah is not working on her assignments for class, she is working with Media Services on campus. Her job entails filming chapel services, working at different sporting events like basketball, working at other events held on campus, and doing office work like editing or working on a database.
When not at work or working on assignments, Hannah is drawing. She has created a whole lot of digital art.
“I like cartoon art; it is like animation style. I draw a lot of portraits. Mostly portraits of characters and people that I create.” She also does improve for Spoons 4 Forks, watching TV shows like New Girl and recently watching Avatar the Last Air Bender. But mostly, she hops back and forth between the same couple of shows over and over again.
Digital Art Gallery
“I’m a creative person; that is something that I am really passionate about; I love creating different media and like exploring different media, trying new things and working on the old thing, making them new.”

The Perfect Day
The description of a perfect day varies, “I think a perfect day might look like going on a hike or walk and then just a chill afternoon in and get to make some tea curl up on the couch, binge watch movie,” she said. The movie choices vary between Animated movies, 80s movies, Back to the Future, Star Wars, and Romcoms. “My roommates and I love to watch romcoms together; that’s always fun.”
