Life Before Olivet

Before his college career at Olivet Nazarene University, Petersen is from and has always been from Peru, Illinois in LaSalle County. Most people aren’t aware of where Peru is, so Kyle usually mentions one of the best spots of wilderness in Illinois which is Starved Rock State Park. Then people then have an understanding of where he is from.
He has always wanted to pursue his love for creating videos, and he has always been anxious to learn more surrounding video creation.
More about Kyle
Outside of the long-term goal of being a content creator for an organization whether that is in sports, church, or business, Petersen also has big plans of establishing his own content creation business in the future. During Petersen’s free time one would most likely catch him out in nature doing landscape photography, and his favorite place to capture wilderness pictures is at Starved Rock State Park. Other hobbies that are included in Petersen’s life is hiking, hanging with friends, hunting with his dad, and yelling at his favorite football team the Chicago Bears.

College Life
Choosing Olivet was no hard decision for Petersen. His relationship with family and his passion for creating videos were the primary reasons he chose Olivet. Petersen doesn’t at all regret his decision on coming to Olivet. As his love for the communication department continues to grow every year.
“The Multimedia-Communications major at Olivet does a great job in teaching all the aspects of communication and develops other skills surrounding your concentration which really has been great. Being a well-rounded employee is very sought after in the workplace nowadays so I feel like I will definitely be prepared for the workforce.”
