Looking through the viewfinder of a camera, a senior multimedia communication major from Olivet Nazarene University is changing the world one story at a time.
From California to Chicago Camari is taking on the world. Camari is a senior multimedia communication major with an emphasis in TV and video. Camari loves all things media and has a passion of storytelling through the camera.
FILM
Camari’s passion for film started at a young age when she got her first phone at 8 years old. She started to make videos with that phone and that led to her passion for movies and visual storytelling. One of her all-time favorite films is The Greatest Showman. She is now studying film at Olivet and has a passion to further her career. Camari’s most recent project is her short film called, “I’m Home”.
Camari submitted this film to her first festival, the Black Film Summit, which is a film festival that is giving a platform for black filmmakers to share their work. Her movie, “I’m Home,” won two awards at the Black Film Summit that took place on March 18 and 19 at the Naperville Conference Center.

Photography
With her love of film comes her passion for photography. She started at 12 years old and loves to do portrait photography. She loves to capture people’s stories in just one image and to let that image tell their story. Here you find some of Camari’s favorite photos she has taken. She takes a lot of her photos for the Olivet Nazarene University’s football team. You can see some of her work here. She also does a lot of portrait photography.
