Who is Peyton?
“I felt God’s call on my life, pushing me towards people.”
When it comes to being all in and committed to communication, this is no mystery for Peyton Spangenberg. She spends most of her day learning under her professors at Olivet Nazarene University studying PR in communication. After small talk, we find that her passion has even pushed her to be fluent in Spanish as well. Hard work is no unusual task when asked about her daily life. If she isn’t doing events on campus she is in the office of Alumni or Development.
Powerful Passions
“I feel like my skills and ability came from being a pastor’s kid and interacting with people every Sunday,” said Spangenberg when asked about the roots of one of her passions.
Fellowship and interaction with community were two things that she was constantly around in her upbringing. Now she spends most of her days learning how to convey messages properly to the world in her Public Relations focus. Additionally, she is a avid event attendee with a deep background in event planning. You can also find her in the office of Alumni helping to communicate with others.

Here is where the many skills that she has picked up are put to use. She usually helps out with the graphic designs of the events that she helps to plan. In her childhood she was able to see the role of event coordination take place from her mother. In her current hometown in Oklahoma, her mother even holds a coordinating role at Oklahoma Wesleyan.
The Arts
One aspect of Spangenberg than many may not know is her passion for the creative arts. In her past, she became a musical enthusiast. She has experience with over eight musicals, as well as years of band experience. In the past she took part in Christian Youth Theater creating a staple in her love in the theater along with a trip to Broadway in Chicago with her parents. Currently she participates in Orpheus, a choir at Olivet Nazarene University.
“I didn’t do choir in middle school, in high school is when I got into choir,” said Spangenberg. This however, wasn’t the case when it came to her passion for theater. She has experience with the Christian youth theater, starting this passion early in sixth grade.

“Music’s just a big part of my life,” she says when talking about her music history. She has enjoyed her time in Orpheus, focusing on her role in the choir as a soprano two. After a recent visit myself to a practice I was able to hear the harmonies of the choir for myself and I am impressed.
Friends and Freetime
After asking around in the community I was able to talk to a friend of Spangenberg. Her friend, Maddy Young, had some fun stories to tell. In her free time you can find Spangenberg at Circle K or even spontaneous food outings with friends keeping balance in a tight schedule.
