May 2020 was unlike what any of us could have thought it was going to be. For the class of 2020, not being able to get a graduation was heartbreaking. Going away to college was up in the air. Not knowing what different rules and guidelines were in place, and if we would feel safe.
For people like Lindsay Nunn, going away for college wasn’t the best idea. With a good head on her shoulders, she chose to stay home for the first two years and go to Illinois Central College, where she would take her general education classes while still studying for her degree in Communication and Spanish.
Time at Olivet
Nunn came to Olivet Nazarene University in 2022 to finish off her last two years of college. Here she would face challenges that would shape who she is today. Olivet wasn’t her favorite place, but after some distance, she can reflect and see the life lessons she learned.
At Olivet, she would be a part of both the Spanish department and the Communication department. In two years, Nunn would gain lots of life experiences from studying in Spain for a couple of months and being a part of Inspired Strategies Agency (ISA).

After Olivet
Life after graduation was amazing. Nunn quickly got engaged to her best friend Claude Nunn Jr., and later that year got married. All within about a year, she walked the stage and received her degrees.

Although her personal life was thriving, her professional life would be a winding road. After graduation, she started working at State Farm as a Claim Associate. Here she quickly learned that being in a Christian environment was a high priority for her. Nunn left this position after a couple of months and started her job at Chick-fil-A.
Here, she managed a team and used the interpersonal skills that she learned at Olivet to get everyday tasks done. Then, she later moved into another role at The Christian Center, working as an administrative assistant. She said that she was successful in these roles because:
“Classes like Pro-Comm and Performance Studies helped me build my confidence.”
LINDSAY NUNN
This wasn’t a path that she thought he life was going to look like, but it is what she knew God wanted from her.
“Lindsay is the hardest working person I know. I saw her struggle at her time at Olivet while still having a positive mindset. I also got to watch her trust God in the next steps of her life. Lindsay finds God in every stage in life.”
JACOB COMFORT
As we look at her path over the last couple of years, we can really see that faith is the most important thing to her. That Nunn not only claims to be a Christian, but watching her face challenges and seeing her personal life, and professional life, she truly does love the Lord and trust Him with everything.
Connection with Olivet
About two years after graduating in 2024, she thinks back on her relationship with Olivet as maybe a little bumpy, but she still comes back and supports her friends and family attending. She is grateful for the friendships that will last a lifetime, memories that she holds close to her heart, the tears that became lessons, and most importantly, the growth she had with the Lord to trust Him always.
