Upperclassmen Dorms

One of the many housing options that Olivet Nazarene University offers are McClain and Hills Hall. McClain Hall is for upperclassmen/transfer female students and Hills Hall is for upperclassmen/transfer male students. Both buildings remain on campus making it convenient for students to have near access to classes and other on-campus resources. There are usually two students to one dorm room and each floor has two Resident Assistants and one Resident Director for the whole building. Students from each hall, Ashley Owen and Christian Barron, have shared their personal experiences living in these dorms. A student from McClain Hall, Ashley Owen, has shared a dorm tour. Both students share the good and bad from living in these dorms. Today’s housing provides many utilities as well as bathrooms, cooking space, and study space.

Ashley Owen is a sophomore who is majoring in multimedia communications with a radio/record concentration. That being said, she is very involved with Shine.FM that is involved with the University. She also has many classes and responsibilities to attend to on campus that McClain can give easy access to. She shares her experience living in McClain and offers advice to incoming students who are planning on living in McClain. She shares her good and bad experiences along with her personal preferences for campus housing. She is currently living alone in a dorm, but it is most likely for students to have a roommate.

Our next student, Christian Barron, lives in Hills Hall this year. Christian shares the differences and similarities between freshman dorms and upperclassmen dorms and how he has had unique experiences in both of them. He is a sophomore majoring in sports management and has enjoyed his time living on campus. Christian also shares his likes and dislikes about dorm living and shares his advice for incoming transfer students or students who are planning on living in Hills. He gives great advice to incoming students such as basic adulting tips that include remembering your keys, doing your laundry, and respecting your neighbors. Christian gives us a lot of tips on dorm living in Hill Hall and shares fun stories that can be very helpful for students to get an idea about daily life in Hills.

Olivet Nazarene University provides many housing options that any student can find what bet fits their lifestyle. The upperclassmen dorms are great options for students who want to remain on campus and stay close to campus events, buildings, the recreation center, and other great sources that the university offers. These two Olivet students who have shared their experiences and advice can be great sources for incoming students who are planning on coming to Olivet or for students who are curious about upperclassmen dorm living.
