Alex Miller: Career Accomplishments and Goals
Alex Miller: a name that you just might hear again in a few years as you’re going through your life. His ambition and drive to lead effective teams of people are two factors that are laying the foundation for his career. Even now, Alex is heavily involved in the Olivet COMM Department. He works to plan events, create videos, and is a full time Multimedia Communications student. However, that’s merely the tip of the iceberg when it comes to his career plans. Though he is still working on completing his undergraduate degree, Alex is planning out his path to his master’s degree in Communication Theory. Following this degree, he hopes to work in a managerial position. The ideal managerial position, as far as he’s concerned, would be in directing. I asked Alex if he preferred live productions or pre- recorded video. Alex, though capable at both, said he prefers live productions because they are more “exciting and engaging.” When asked about his prospects, an anonymous professor said, “Alex is gonna go just as far as he wants. He’s a hard worker even when he doesn’t want to be, and he does well at what he commits himself to.” So watch out world; Alex Miller may be the next big name in live productions.
Origins of Greatness
Don’t be fooled by his sarcastic and occasionally nihilistic exterior; Alex Miller is a family man. Born and raised in Chicago Heights Illinois, Alex comes from a large Italian family. Growing up, he would spend large quantities of time with his family since he didn’t have a yard to go play in. Right now, he wishes he were able to spend more time with them. However, he feels that this is a time in his life when he must focus on developing his personal skills and career. He wants to use this period of singleness to develop a strong foundation upon which he can build his life, both personal and professional. When asked about what made him unique, Alex said “The most interesting thing about me is that I can put both legs behind my head. I am extraordinarily flexible.” Clearly he is a man of focus, commitment, and sheer skill. Hopefully he can use those skills of flexibility to enhance his fathering skills. Alex hopes to have kids. He says the target number is three, though there’s room for negotiation. He is already gaining experience in the world of kids through his time spent working in a kindergarten class.
Alex has the skills and personality to match whatever situation he finds himself in. He pushes himself to be better personally and professionally, and it shows through how he has developed even since first arriving at Olivet. A former homecoming king, he gives his all to everything he’s in, and he knows the right times to be relaxed and fun or serious and focused. So whether you know Alex personally or you have never met him before, keep a watchful eye and ear open for his name. It might be well known sooner than you think.
