The Olivet Engagement center offers on-campus job opportunities

Every student is always looking for a place to work during the school year, but may have a rough time being able to balance the load of class work and their job. This is why finding a job on campus may be a good option. On-campus jobs not only fit a student’s schedule but also expand communication skills and allow students to meet new people in the community and on campus. Student employment offers quite a few opportunities, but the one many students may not be aware of is in Admissions West, just across the street and west of the Bowling Admission Center.

Working at the Olivet Engagement Center is an opportunity for ONU students to connect with the community. It creates various ways to reach the people of the community, to support not only them but in hopes of receiving support to continue the mission of ONU and helping its students.

Community’s donors fund the scholarships, academics, and athletics for students of ONU. A wonderful part of campus where students and alumni can gather to make a difference.

If student workers need a break sometimes, they can even play a short game of corn hole. Just like Intervarsity Bible Studies, it is an engaging space with others to speak and connect with God because not only are you helping yourself, but are also helping others.

Many students seek on-campus jobs at Bowling Admissions, Burke, Perry Center, or even Benner Library., often overlooking the openings at Admissions West.

“It was the first opening that appeared on HandShake and it seemed like a great opportunity,” Dakota Jackson, a member of the staff said.

“Working in the engagement center created a great opportunity for personal growth. I learned a lot about maintaining a positive conversation with others.”

Working in Admissions West grants many opportunities to help themselves and others to advance. Receiving the opportunity to hear from Alumni on their past experiences throughout their college career, explaining what steps they have taken, and offering advice. Alumni, parents, and community resources give students a chance to gain experience in knowing how ONU is a strong community. Being able to gain experience of how the team works together to fund for scholarships and making a student’s dream come true in supporting their academic careers.
