Madeline’s Welcome to Olivet
Graphic Design. Content creation. Art. Speech. Influence. Storytelling. Radio. Inside the room at Shine F.M., Madeline Johnson did not choose Multimedia Communications. It chose her.
Johnson, a senior who attends Olivet Nazarene University, is majoring in Multimedia Communications with a focus in radio broadcasting. What some don’t know about Johnson is that Olivet Nazarene University was not her first choice.
I transferred from the College of DuPage, but God opened the door for me to Olivet.

Johnson is involved in several extracurriculars at Olivet such as being an on-air personality at the Shine F.M. radio station, a student director at Spark HD, director of creative services, and creator of multiple worship events.
You’re on Live in Three…Two…One
Like every radio host, communicating with an audience invokes Johnson’s curiosity on things she does not normally think about on a day to day basis.
“One thing I love about my major is that it allows you to reach an audience outside of my age range as well as giving me the opportunity and space to share my content.”

Casting Crown’s Concert
One of the many opportunities Johnson has at Olivet is volunteering at concert events. Recent concerts Johnson volunteered through Olivet was working merchandise at the Casting Crowns concert, ushering in several concerts including recent one coming up; Elevation Worship.
There’s More to Her Story Then What Meets the Eye
Even though Johnson is already committed too so many extracurriculars for her major, that does not stop her from doing other things she loves. Gardening, board games, Nintendo switch and getting tattoos are some of Johnson’s top hobbies.
I still have a life outside of my major and I am going to take advantage of that life given to me.
