Ooley Impact At ONU

Lauren Ooley is a name to remember. Ooley, has passion in everything she does when it comes to cultivating community, family, and learning. An example is Ooley heavy influence on Olivet Nazarene University’s campus. She is a resident assistant for one of freshmen halls. She oversees first floor of Parrott Hall residents and cares for the residents as if they were her little sisters.
“I would have never thought I would be in this position a year ago. I want to not just be a resident assistant but a friend, sister, and mentor” said Ooley. She also leads devotionals, and leadership among her residents and aspires to create authentic relationships.

Besides being a leader, she enjoys being part of ONU Class of 2025 and meeting new students. Her passion for ONU Communication Department and ONU Spanish Department has impacted professors and those around her. Her passion for her Communication Studies major and Spanish major has opened doors for Ooley to travel internationally.
“What has molded me who I am today? Definitely going on mission trips.” For Ooley, going to Haiti, and the Dominican Republic reminded her of own convictions. Family is the beginning of a support system. When she travels she can see how love has no borders.
“I am the youngest of four siblings, and I cant imagine living a life without my greatest supporters.” The Ooley have strong values in Christ, family, and vocal expression. Ooley is tight knit to her family, she loves, and communicates with them like it’s her last day.
“Coming to Olivet was hard. But ONU became my second home.” Ooley said, she enjoyed training with her mom for triathlons and helping her sister plan her wedding but is ready for whats to come this summer. Ooley, is going Chile the summer of 2023 to join a Spanish Intensive program and can’t wait for what’s to come. She is ready to incorporate her family values with other residents, students, and internationally.
“The preparation Olivet has provided me with, and the support of my family and friends has encouraged me to seek adventure.”







Getting To Know Ooley
Ooley expressed her gratitude in being part of such a supportive family. It allowed her to grow and know more about herself.
“I would have never realized how much of a book lover I am till I counted how many books I have,” she said.

Ooley, has 119 books and needs 500 more to achieve her own library. Besides her love for books, Ooley enjoys watching How I Met Your Mother, New Girl, and Gilmore Girls.
Hannah Robinson, a resident from Parrott floor said, “I can say without a doubt Lauren Ooley enjoys reading and watching tv. She is always so welcoming and invites us to watch a show with her. I am going to miss her so much.”
