Logan Singletary – Christ Follower, Multimedia Storyteller & Radio Host

Getting to know Logan

Logan Singletary, a senior at Olivet Nazarene University, is anticipating graduation while knowing it will be a bittersweet goodbye. He is majoring in Multimedia Communication with a minor in creative writing.

From family ties and dreams of fossil finds to God’s hand working in all that He had planned for Singletary at Olivet, Singletary has experienced special moments.

His family

Growing up in the Nazarene church, Olivet was never foreign to him. He grew up in the Midwest, which made Olivet the regional Nazarene college for him.  His Nazarene ties were not the only connection he had with Olivet

Singletary’s family is a collection of Olivet alumni. His parents met and fell in love at Olivet. His dad even proposed on campus. Not only did his parents attend Olivet, but his sister did as well. She graduated in 2018, leading up to Singletary’s decision of attending Olivet himself. He felt a certain obligation to Olivet.

“I was next in line,” he said.

His ONU Journey

Although there was this felt obligation, he was not interested in attending Olivet to begin with.

It was 2019 and Singletary was ready to face the West and become a paleontologist, but God. God had a different plan for him.

“I ended up getting a call from God to throw all of that away and do something else,” Singletary said.

With his prior media experience from his high school and what he had heard about the ONU Communication department. Olivet was the next step. After being accepted and taking a tour, he truly felt like he belonged here.

“At orientation, I was able to go over everything in the communication department, and it just clicked,” he said.

He emphasized that Olivet isn’t just a college of academics but a place of learning.

Singletary’s testimony of all that Olivet is.

From his hard work and dedication to classes and the establishment of a variety of friendships, Singletary has made the most of his time here.

His SPARK

Olivet’s student-ran radio station, SPARK HD, has been an overall highlight in Singletary’s time at ONU. Not only has he spent his time getting involved with the station, but has stepped into leadership roles within.

Singletary holds the title of Station Manager and Program Director for SPARK HD.

He has impacted not only listeners but those within the workplace as well.

Classmate Mikala Turner said that, “he is inspiring, honest, kind, and passionate. Logan has inspired me to strive for the better and always do what is expected of me and more.”

Logan’s Next Steps

With his diverse knowledge, the sky’s the limit for Singletary. He is interested in video production but acknowledges his skills in other categories as well.

His multimedia knowledge has led him to interested of audio and video, but with his creative writing minor he is also open to written projects. His main goal is to become a multimedia storyteller.

He has stayed true to his Nazarene roots and is currently working for the Church of the Nazarene. He is specifically working with the Global Ministry Center doing video production and video editing.

He has enjoyed getting to tell stories through this and even believes it could become his dream job.

“As long as I can tell meaningful and impactful stories, then I’ll be happy,” he said.
