There Anna Hultz was, leaving her small farm town and coming into the university campus of Olivet. She stood outside by Olivet’s admissions office looking at the building in anticipation and nervousness. Taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly, she stepped inside. At that moment, that step defined a whole new chapter in Anna’s life. She realized that today marks the start of new beginnings for herself and her future.

Fast forward two years later, Anna Hultz is a current Junior at Olivet studying Public Relations & Strategic Communications, with a minor in Psychology. Coming from her small farm town in southern Illinois called Frankfort and traveled 30 miles away from home to come to Olivet.

The Journey To Olivet

Hultz’s journey to Olivet was not an easy one. She had many obstacles to overcome to become a student of Olivet. From going to living in her small farm town where she lived her entire life to the busy college life, she had to make adjustments. Hultz comes from a family of two parents and seven siblings, though she only lived with three of them her whole life.

It was her older sister who introduced her to Olivet. Her sister had just finished her junior year at Olivet, when Hultz started to show interest in going to the same college as her older sister. It was with her older sister’s help that Hultz was able to come to Olivet and start college that following fall.

Olivet has introduced Hultz to a lot of new activities. You can usually find her either bowling or at all the Spoon4Forks shows due to her love for comedy and friendship with those in the cast. She makes sure to also participate in any and all Olivet student activities.

My two favorite Olivet events are the Silent Disco and the Christmas Party that they hold every year,” says Anna Hultz. Olivet’s musicals have also caught Anna’s attention and she does her best to go to each and every single one of them. Hultz comments, “My current favorite musical right now is The Muse”.

Olivet even introduced Hultz to her future husband. It was at Olivet where she met her current fiancé, Framiel Kashila, a current sophomore. They actually first meet at Jewel Osco, where Hultz works, when Framiel took the first step into winning her heart. “Anna was the prettiest girl I have ever seen in my life“, says Framiel Kashila when asked what his first thoughts were when he saw Hultz.

Anna’s Passions and Dreams

When she first came to Olivet, Hultz was a Psychology major and had been that for the past two years, but she was finding herself unhappy. It was this January 2023, where she switched to public relations and strategic communications as her major. Hultz realized that she had enough credits to make her work in psychology a minor, as to not throw away all her hard work these past two years. Due to her switch, Anna has decided to take on an extra year and graduate in 2025 as a super senior.

Hultz discovered her passion for public relations when she saw all the creative designing and marketing opportunities, she would be able to use in the workplace. Her dream career is to work in social media marketing with an organization that helps troubled children due to her love for both marketing and kids.

After graduation, Hultz and her fiancé Framiel Kashila planned to get married sometime around 2026. They both agreed to save money in the following years for the wedding they both want and to create stability in their future. They have talked about traveling the first two years of their marriage across country in America.
