Lindsay Sturgell is a senior at Olivet Nazarene University. Sturgell is a double majoring in Communication Studies and Spanish. She plans on helping foreign students have a better understanding of English for those who don’t know the language very well.
Personality and Goals.
Her best character traits are described as hard worker, determined, caring and loves to work out. I interviewed Sturgell to see what her life is all about whether it was her hobbies, passions, career goals or why she came to Olivet Nazarene University to begin with and what made her come here. I also got the chance to Interview Sturgell’s boyfriend Claude Nunn, Junior here at Olivet Nazarene University and get a glimpse on their life together and favorite hobbies they have together and how did they meet and what made their connection click right away.
Some of Sturgell’s hobbies include going to the gym, walking around campus with her friends or boyfriend or going to play basketball. Her favorite hobby is fitness and focusing on her physical health and how it is really important to her. She also loves to help others and help people that may have a difficult time learning English. When Sturgell is home, she likes to walk or run with her dog Chip. Chip is an Australian shepherd and blue heeler mix and he is 5 years old. Sturgell likes to take Chip to get pup cups. Sturgell also likes to spend time with her family when she is home, she is the oldest to 2 younger sisters and one younger brother. Sturgell’s youngest sister Lily is a freshman here at Olivet Nazarene University.

Sturgell recently went and did some interpretation at a school where she helped at student teacher conferences and Sturgell said that she “Translated for the parents who may not be able to understand or have a conversation with the teachers in English and that’s something that I really enjoyed doing.” Currently Sturgell doesn’t have much involvement as she is focusing on her job search as she graduates in May and to be able use her degree and passions that she learned from Olivet into the workforce. Sturgell’s dream job is to be a medical interpreter in the hospitals for patients that can’t understand what the doctor is trying to explain to them.

Sturgell’s Boyfriend Claude Nunn a Junior here at Olivet says that their favorite hobby together is “to go to the gym a lot and play ping pong in Perry.”
Sturgell said she heard about ONU when some people from ONU came and talked at her school and tried to recruit kids to come to Olivet. Sturgell came to Olivet because she wanted to come to a smaller school and have professors that will help guide her in her academics and her faith. Sturgell said her best memory here at Olivet is “silent disco is something I really enjoyed and doing the Ollie Follies variety show are 2 things I really enjoyed doing during my time here.”
What made you come to ONU?
