Haley Foster, an Ohio Native whose grown up in Indianapolis, Indiana in her recent years has soaked up the opportunity to increase her involvement over her four year span here at Olivet Nazarene University. Haley is a double major in Public Relations and Corporate Communication and even being occupied with both majors, she has found a way to sustained strong loving and spiritual friendships with others while being involved with campus events around the university along with clubs and programs inside the Communications Department.
Chances Make Champions
Throughout life, everyone must experience a sort of transition in where they may go to a unfamiliar territory in which it may take time to adapt to newer surrounding, although Haley embraced the transition of moving from Indiana to Illinois to attend the university. For Haley, the transition was pretty easy as far as moving to a new state. It’s only a few hours from home so she was able to still feel connected to family in that sense. My freshman year was difficult in terms of finding who she was and where she fit in, which is normal for any college freshman. But sophomore year came and not only she “made new friends, but joined the Communication Department, and have never been more happy.”
Do What You Love & Love What You Do
During her first year at Olivet, Haley’s former communication professor realized her admiration for not only for writing but for the whole general idea of studying Communications. When taking a journalism class and the professor noticed Haley’s ability to write and tell stories from an exciting and moving perspective, and she basically recruited Haley into joining the PR major. Haley adds “I added Corporate Communication when I noticed how similar it was and that with only a few extra classes, I could have another valuable skill set to contribute to the workforce.”
Teamwork Makes the Dream-Work
Haley Foster’s engagement is no secret to the world, as she always wanted to boost the cultural engagement of the school but increase the formalization of the Communication Department. During her sophomore year, Haley was the Director of Public Relations for Proclamation Gospel Choir (PGC) from sophomore to senior year. Along with being the Director, Haley was the Vice President of Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) her junior year, and for her senior year she was the President of PRSSA, and an Account Executive for Inspired Strategies Agency (ISA) for 4 semesters. Most recently as a member of ISA, Haley’s favorite client for has been her involvement with ONU Football!
Haley is one most determined people I have met. Not only she have a vision for everything she does, but she wants whats best for everyone.

Follow your Goals & Dreams
Becoming a graduated senior this spring, Haley is not sure what my dream job is with this major, but excited and open to all opportunities because Public Relations allows you to take so many avenues with it! Haley emphasizes how she love sports, so she think it would be really awesome to work for a D1 or professional sports team as their head of communications. It also would be really cool to own my own consulting agency, where I can provide strategy to companies who need improvement on their digital front.
Even after graduating, Haley motivates students who want to join a club, to be open minded and be excited to learn something new! She emphasized that “if there’s something you’re interested in being a part of, ask someone for more information and put yourself out there. People love when someone is excited and passionate about participating.”
