With her dynamic personality, Jillienne Roe, a junior at Olivet Nazarene University, looks to utilize her skills in public relations where she hopes to bring her hard-working and encouraging attitude to the forefront wherever she goes.
Like a lot of students, Jillienne isn’t quite sure what she wants to do with her degree in public relations after she graduates, but she does know of a few things that she doesn’t what to pursue with it. Going into government and non-profit isn’t exactly what she has in mind for her job in the future, but she understands that with public relations being a vary versatile major and her having a dynamic personality, the sky is the limit for what she can accomplish.
Speaking of the sky, her favorite color is blue. With God being her main motivator, Jillienne says, “What I typically tell people is wherever God leads me, that is what I want to do and go for.”
Jillienne is from Dixon, Illinois, where she enjoys hobbies such as hunting, hanging out with friends, being outside and hiking. Hunting is a hobby that she shares with her family as it is something that they can enjoy together in the great outdoors. Along with some of her hobbies, Jillienne also worked for Culver’s. She started working there since she was 14 years old and still does some back-of-the-house work for them when they need help as she does reports and data entries.
Jillienne is also both an introvert and an extrovert. She has taken multiple test online and all of them either say she is 50-50 or 49-51. Being a public relations major, she loves being around other people and she has been able to do that by working at Culver’s and being a camp counselor. She also says that she likes to be outside by herself as that is a way that she rejuvenates herself. Depending on the situation, Jillienne can either be spontaneous or rational in her thinking. When it comes to doing something with her friends, she tends to be more spontaneous, but when it comes to making the difficult decisions in life, she definitely takes a rational approach.
Jillienne describes her perfect day as being able to sleep in with no responsibilities on her plate for the day, going on a hike and ending the day grilling out and having a bonfire with her family all while spending the day with her boyfriend.
Some random facts about Jillienne is that her favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11, she got into watching The Office for awhile but also likes the Goldbergs, her favorite genre of movie are rom coms and her favorite movie is How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days. Two things on her bucket list are: she wants to go cliff camping, which is exactly what it sounds like and wants to leave the country at least once.
Jillienne has been given a lot of advice over the years, but something that her mom told her when she dropped her off at ONU is, “To never pick up any wooden nickels.” This basically means to not be fooled and to watch out for the fake things in life.
